SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Vice President of Diagnostic Imaging and reporting to the Director of Radiology Information Systems, coordinates site Diagnostic Imaging Information Systems (DIIS) activities. Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), Image Sharing Platform, Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Voice Recognition System (VR). Participants in the coordination and implementation of all interfaces and system upgrades.
Ensures all DIIS systems meet the needs of the hospitals, the providers and the Diagnostic Imaging department.

- Monitors the daily performance of DIIS systems for assigned area to ensure optimum utilization of automated systems.
- Participates in initial and continuing user orientation and training in systems functions as well as procedures specific to user needs to enter, process, and access information and images. Ensures efficient and appropriate use of systems. Responds to user questions regarding all DI system functionality, capabilities, usage, limitations, etc.
- Participates in the development, modification and maintenance of systems to meet Diagnostic Imaging information needs. Such information includes provider dictation, patient and procedure information, statistics, billing codes, etc. Updates, defines, and deactivates codes as appropriate. Ensures data tables are up-to-date and accurate. Participates in communication of changes to users in a timely manner, following up to ensure appropriate procedures are followed.
- Participates in the design, development, and production of reports, such as, statistical data, patient charges, inventories, and quality assurance reports to meet user needs.
- Participates in the development and modification of policies and procedures as they relate to the Radiology Information Systems.
- Participates in Lifespan’s Diagnostic Imaging IS and operational meetings to address, develop and implement Enterprise-wide systems solutions impacting Radiology.
- Participates in the design, development, and maintenance of Lifespan’s Diagnostic Imaging website.
- Grants and maintains appropriate user privileges within DIIS systems.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of baccalaureate degree in computer science or related field.
EXPERIENCEMinimum of 2 years experience in PACS/RIS administration in a diagnostic imaging department including experience with hardware and software interfaces to maintain operations.
Experience in a data management role to include application utilization, data analysis, report generation and troubleshooting.
Analytical ability to locate, research and resolve errors and problems.
Organizational skills to gather, assemble and maintain data from a wide variety of sources.
