Security Architect (Retail)
Candidate profile:
- Senior-level security architect with approximately 8+ years of experience.
- Ideally has progressed from an engineering background into architecture.
- Experience working closely with application, infrastructure, and solution architects.
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Must be comfortable interacting with regulatory and compliance-focused audiences.
Critical technical experience:
- Application security
- API security
- Identity & access management (IAM)
- Network security
- Hybrid cloud environments
- Security architecture within large-scale modernization or transformation programs
- AWS and Azure cloud security expertise
- Experience supporting migrations from on-premises environments to cloud platforms.
Preferred industry backgrounds:
- Lottery/Gaming (highly preferred)
- Casino/Gaming
- Retail
- Financial services
- Large, highly regulated enterprises.
Key responsibilities:
- Participate in architecture and design reviews.
- Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments.
- Identify security risks early in project life cycles.
- Support modernization initiatives within retail technology.
- Provide practical security guidance to project teams.
- Collaborate across architecture and leadership groups
Success factors:
- Integrate early into projects.
- Provide sound architectural and risk-based recommendations.
- Reduce late-stage security surprises.
- Become a trusted partner to retail technology teams.
- Balance security requirements with business objectives.
Work arrangement:
- Preferred: U.S.
-based remote candidates. - Limited travel may occasionally be required for workshops or architecture team meetings.
Additional guidance:
- Security certifications are a plus but are not required.
- Formal architecture frameworks are not a major focus; practical application and problem-solving are more important.
