The Person al Injury Case Manager (Pre-Litigation) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of personal injury cases from after sign-up through settlement, prior to the commencement of litigation. This role acts as the primary liaison between clients, attorneys, medical providers, and insurance companies, ensuring efficient case progression, excellent client service, and optimal outcomes for the firm and its clients.
Key Responsibilities Case Management- Oversee a caseload of pre-litigation personal injury matters from signup through settlement, ensuring thorough and timely handling of all case aspects.
- Maintain regular, proactive communication with clients to provide updates, answer questions, and guide them through the claims and medical treatment process.
- Draft, revise, and finalize legal documents including demand letters, medical summaries, settlement documents, and correspondence for attorney review.
- Gather and organize all relevant evidence, including police reports, medical records, bills, wage loss documentation, and photographs.
- Schedule and track client medical appointments, monitor treatment progress, and ensure there are no gaps in care.
- Open and manage insurance claims, communicate with adjusters, and negotiate settlements under attorney supervision.
- Assemble comprehensive demand packages summarizing case facts, liability, and damages for submission to insurance companies.
- Verify medical billing balances and liens, request reductions from providers, and negotiate liens to maximize client recovery.
- Track and meet all deadlines, maintain organized case files (electronic and paper), and ensure compliance with firm procedures.
- Assist attorneys with case strategy, preparation, and advocacy, including research and case summaries.
- 1+ years of experience in personal injury pre-litigation case management preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to build rapport with clients.
- Experience drafting legal documents and conducting legal research preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Proficiency with case management software and standard office applications.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive information.
