Labor & Employment Attorney (3+ Years)

I’m working with a national, full-service litigation firm (500+ attorneys, 35+ offices nationwide) that is continuing to grow its Labor & Employment practice and is looking to add an experienced Associate Attorney to its Providence office.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, nationally recognized Labor & Employment team that defends employment claims across more than 45 states and advises public and private employers on proactive strategies to reduce litigation risk. The practice is known for providing practical, business-minded counsel while handling sophisticated employment matters.
The role:The associate will work closely with clients and colleagues on a wide range of labor and employment matters, taking ownership of cases and contributing meaningfully to strategy and execution.
Key responsibilities include:- Conducting initial case analysis and developing case strategy
- Preparing and responding to discovery
- Taking and defending depositions
- Drafting motions and attending hearings
- Advising clients on legal options, risks, and potential outcomes
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Effectively negotiating, researching, and communicating in writing and orally
- Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing to practice in Rhode Island
- At least 3 years of labor & employment experience
- Strong academic background and critical thinking skills
- Sense of urgency and ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience meeting billable hour expectations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook; experience with iManage and/or One Drive is a plus
