Position Overview
Litigation Associate – Insurance Defense located on-site in Providence, RI (hybrid flexibility available). The role requires independent management of litigation, covering case analysis, discovery, depositions, motions, court appearances, client communication, and staying current with insurance defense law. Annual billable target: 1,800–1,900 hours.
Responsibilities- Handle all litigation aspects independently.
- Conduct case analysis and discovery.
- Take and defend depositions.
- Draft motions and legal memoranda.
- Attend hearings and court appearances.
- Manage client communications and reporting.
- Stay current on insurance defense case law.
- Meet 1,800–1,900 annual billable goal.
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- 2–7 years civil litigation experience.
- Insurance defense background preferred.
- Strong writing and research skills.
- Ability to manage multiple matters.
- 3–5 years commercial litigation.
- Strong oral advocacy.
- Comfortable handling client‑facing responsibilities.
- Multi‑state admission preferred.
Salary range: $120,000 – $150,000 per year.
Location:
Providence, RI (open to hybrid flexibility). Admission in Rhode Island required;
Connecticut and Massachusetts admission preferred.
