Litigation Associate – Toxic Tort Defense

Providence, RI (Hybrid flexibility available)

Full-Time $120,000 – $150,000/year

Established full-service, business-focused law firm founded in 1960, headquartered in Providence, RI. 150–200 attorneys.

We're seeking a Litigation Associate with 2–7 years of civil litigation experience to join a dedicated toxic tort defense group. Asbestos or toxic tort defense experience is strongly preferred. This role offers significant courtroom exposure, early deposition responsibility, and long-term partnership track potential.

Manage all phases of litigation from intake through trial preparation, draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and legal memoranda, take and defend fact and expert depositions, conduct legal research and case analysis, attend hearings, mediations, and court appearances, collaborate with senior attorneys on defense strategy, and maintain proactive client communication. Billable target of 1,800–1,900 hours.

3–5 years of defense-side litigation experience, strong depositional confidence, and RI/CT/MA bar admission ideal.

Must be admitted and in good standing in Rhode Island. CT admission strongly preferred; MA a plus. Must be a U.S. citizen. CT, RI, or MA-based candidates strongly preferred.
