Chief Financial Officer & Vice President of Sustainability

College Unbound seeks a mission-driven Chief Financial Officer & Vice President of Sustainability to serve as a core member of the senior leadership team and steward the institution’s long-term sustainability in service of student success. At College Unbound, sustainability means continually evolving to meet student needs and ensuring the institution operates in alignment with its equity-centered mission.

Reporting to the President, the CFO & VP of Sustainability provides strategic leadership for the College’s financial, operational, and administrative infrastructure. This role aligns institutional resources with student and community priorities, ensuring the College has the capacity, systems, and financial models needed to support innovation, growth, and national impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as Chief Financial Officer with oversight of financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, tax, grant accounting, compliance, and bursar functions
  • Lead institutional sustainability strategy that integrates financial stewardship, operational effectiveness, and student success priorities
  • Strengthen and scale administrative and operational systems that support a thriving, equity-centered institution
  • Develop forward-looking financial and technological models that advance the College’s mission and values
  • Partner with senior leadership to align resources with strategic initiatives and programmatic growth
  • Ensure strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, and responsible stewardship of institutional resources
