OverviewProvide strategic leadership, intellectual vision, and programmatic direction for the institute to foster a vision of dialogue and disputatio rooted in the Catholic intellectual tradition. The institute seeks to build conditions for the flourishing of all members of the human family through intellectual and personal engagement that reflect the principles of the Beloved Community.
Duties and Responsibilities- Provide intellectual and strategic leadership for the Rev. Robert
A. Morris Institute, developing a cohesive vision and curriculum that encourages open dialogue about campus and world issues, cultivating a habit of disputatio in service of truth and Catholic social principles. (50%) - Prepare annual reports on impact, partnerships, and goals; conduct program evaluations; provide recommendations; and communicate regularly with OMM and executive leadership. (20%)
- Collaborate with campus partners to study campus climate, experiences of exclusion, and declining trust; foster a culture rooted in the Beloved Community vision in consultation with the Assistant Vice President of Mission Integration. (20%)
- Collaborate with the Director of the Center at Moore Hall to align initiatives; serve as a major collaborator for the annual MLK convention. (10%)
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Bachelor's degree in theology, pastoral ministry, social work, or related field from an accredited institution (required). Master's degree preferred.
- Five to seven years of experience communicating human dignity, racial justice, and Catholic Social Teaching, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to consult and facilitate conversations among multiple constituencies.
- Knowledge of civil discourse and dialogue.
- Knowledge of Catholic social thought and the Catholic intellectual tradition.
- Ability to collaborate on projects with others.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Maintain a normal seated position for extended periods.
- Reach by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
- Manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hand(s) or arm(s), e.g., using a keyboard.
- Use spoken communication skills.
- See within normal parameters.
- Hear within normal range.
- Move about normally.
