L&E Engineering is looking for a skilled Manual Machinist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in precision work, enjoys solving unique machining challenges, and wants to continue developing their craft.

This position also offers a great opportunity for someone earlier in their machining career. You’ll work closely with an experienced machinist who will help train, guide, and support your development as you build your skills in a hands‑on environment.

At L&E, no two jobs are exactly the same. You’ll be working on a variety of parts and materials, contributing to high-quality aerospace components in a shop that values accuracy, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do
  • Set up and operate manual lathes and mills
  • Perform machining operations including turning, reaming, boring, facing, and threading
  • Read and follow blueprints and job routers to determine machining requirements (sequence, tooling, feeds, and speeds)
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet specifications
  • Fabricate and modify parts for tooling, repair, or production needs
  • Assist in building gauges and product acceptance tooling
  • Work with team members to complete jobs efficiently and accurately
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience with manual machining (entry‑level candidates with strong fundamentals are encouraged to apply)
  • Ability to read blueprints and use basic measuring tools
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced team members
  • Good attendance and reliability
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
  • High School Diploma or GED required
Position Demands
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, and lifting
  • Ability to pass a vision screening
  • Willingness to work extended hours during peak workloads
Schedule
  • Monday – Thursday: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Overtime may be required during the week and on Fridays (Monday - Thursday: 6:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Friday 6:00 AM - 11:00 AM)
  • Opportunities for increased pay with cross‑training and annual reviews
Why L & E Engineering?
  • Stable, growing aerospace business
  • Clean, climate‑controlled environment
  • Hands‑on training and mentorship from experienced machinist
  • Competitive benefits package including 401(k) match, PTO, and paid holidays
  • Annual bonus possible linked to Company metrics
Eligibility Requirements

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export‑controlled technology. Proof of status is required prior to employment.

If you take pride in your work, want to continue building your machining skills, and prefer a team‑focused environment where quality matters, we’d like to hear from you.
