Manufacturing Assembly Technician – 1st Shift

Location: Providence, RI
Pay: $21/hr.; $23/hr. with soldering experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
Job Type: 3–4-month contract with potential to extend or convert to permanent employment

A medical device manufacturing company in Providence is looking for a Manufacturing Assembly Technician to perform hands-on mechanical and electromechanical assembly.

This is an assembly-focused position, not a traditional machine operator role. Candidates should have experience working in a manufacturing or production assembly environment, following detailed procedures and using basic computer systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble small mechanical and electromechanical devices using hand tools
  • Follow written work instructions, SOPs and blueprints
  • Perform visual, in-process and final inspections
  • Complete production records and manufacturing documentation
  • Enter and review information using computer-based systems
  • Follow quality, safety, GMP and ISO procedures
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Assist with inventory control and material handling as needed
  • Report production or quality concerns to the appropriate lead or supervisor

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least six months of manufacturing, production or assembly experience preferred
  • Experience working in an assembly-line or production environment
  • Comfortable using computers and learning new software
  • Able to read and follow detailed written instructions
  • Comfortable using basic hand tools
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Able to work Monday–Friday from 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
  • Comfortable with an initial 3–4-month contract assignment

Preferred Experience

  • Soldering experience
  • Medical device manufacturing
  • Electromechanical or small-parts assembly
  • Cleanroom or regulated manufacturing
  • GMP or ISO procedures
  • Visual inspection or manufacturing documentation

Candidates with soldering experience are eligible for the higher pay rate. Training will be provided on company procedures, regulated manufacturing requirements and internal computer systems.

The position may require standing for extended periods, wearing protective equipment and lifting or moving materials weighing approximately 10–30 pounds.
