Position: Media Planner / Buyer

Position Summary

The Media Planner/Buyer is responsible for developing integrated media strategies, planning and purchasing media across multiple channels, managing vendor relationships, and optimizing campaign performance. This individual will serve as a key strategic partner to internal teams and clients, ensuring media investments are aligned with business objectives and deliver measurable results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop integrated media plans that align with client objectives, target audiences, budgets, and campaign goals.
  • Create cross-channel media strategies across digital, streaming, broadcast, out-of-home, and emerging media platforms.
  • Conduct audience research and leverage industry tools to identify effective targeting, segmentation, and geographic strategies.
  • Evaluate media opportunities, platforms, and partnerships to recommend the most effective media mix.
Media Buying & Campaign Execution
  • Manage the RFP process, negotiate rates, secure placements, and execute media buys across multiple channels.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media vendors and platform partners.
  • Coordinate campaign implementation, trafficking, and tracking with internal teams and external partners.
  • Set up and monitor campaign delivery and performance within self-service media platforms where applicable.
  • Communicate paid search and social media plan details to internal specialists to ensure integrated execution.
Budget Management
  • Manage media budgets, allocations, pacing, and forecasting.
  • Ensure campaigns are delivered within approved budget parameters.
  • Reconcile media invoices and resolve discrepancies with vendors in a timely manner.
Campaign Optimization & Analytics
  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance.
  • Contribute to performance reports and present key insights and actionable recommendations to internal teams and clients.
  • Partner closely with account management, creative, analytics, and digital teams to deliver integrated campaigns.
  • Participate in client meetings and provide strategic media recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, schedules, and reporting across assigned accounts.
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of experience in media planning and buying, preferably within an agency or in-house marketing environment.
  • Experience planning and executing campaigns across traditional and digital media channels.
  • Strong understanding of media measurement, attribution, analytics, and optimization practices.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Programmatic ad buying platform experience a plus
