OverviewCultural Survival's internship program creates opportunities for mentorship, learning, and development for individuals interested in the nonprofit sector, particularly in the advancement and defense of Indigenous Peoples’ rights, lands, languages, and cultures. This internship is part of our effort to provide meaningful learning opportunities.

About the internshipFocus:
Marketing and Administration for the Bazaar Program
The Bazaar, with a 50-year history, is a cultural festival that showcases Indigenous artisans and vendors, supporting development and livelihoods in alignment with Cultural Survival’s mission. The Bazaar operates to promote Indigenous creators and community initiatives, with events and cultural activities.
We are accepting applications for a remote Fall 2026 internship within the Bazaar Program. The selected intern reports to the Bazaar Program Manager, for an initial 3-month period.
PositionMarketing & Administrative Intern
This internship provides hands-on experience in administrative support, volunteer coordination, sponsorship development, marketing, and product management. Interns will work with the Bazaar Program staff and other Cultural Survival teams to support community outreach, event planning, promotional campaigns, and fundraising for Bazaar events in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Fluency in English and Spanish is highly preferred; proficiency in other languages is a plus.
Key learning objectives- Develop strong organizational and data management skills by maintaining databases, photo archives, and administrative records
- Strengthen communication through outreach to volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and community partners
- Gain experience in research, analysis, and proposal development for sponsor ships and partnerships
- Improve time management and coordination across multiple projects in events, marketing, and operations
- Collaborate with the Bazaar Events Manager to organize, label, and maintain program photo archives and internal files
- Assist in updating and managing databases related to contacts, volunteers, vendors, and program records
- Support the Logistics & Operations Assistant in volunteer recruitment and coordination
- Help develop and maintain partnerships with universities, businesses, and community organizations
- Assist in researching and preparing corporate sponsorship proposals and funding materials
- Support marketing and promotional efforts through outreach and event materials distribution
- Assist with social media content creation and cross-channel campaigns
- Organize product inventory, take quality photos, and create listings for online sales platforms
- Assist with event preparation and provide on-site support during events in Massachusetts and Rhode Island
We welcome a candidate who can dedicate an average of 15 hours per week to the project. Cultural Survival will accommodate academic commitments and provide opportunities for a monthly mentorship session within this department.
Upon successful completion of the internship, the intern will qualify to receive an internship certificate of completion.
