Hospice Volunteers Make a Difference!
SEEKING VOLUNTEERS THROUGHOUT RHODE ISLAND!
If you have a passion for caring for others and are looking for a way to make a difference in people's lives, consider becoming a hospice volunteer! Our volunteers are an important part of our hospice care team, helping to improve the quality of life for our patients, their families and their caregivers.
We are looking for great volunteers that are willing to assist in various capacities. Training is provided and volunteers are supervised by a volunteer coordinator and supported by other members of the patient care team.
Some examples of volunteer needs:
- Offering companionship & socialization
- Playing/listening to music
- Playing chess, cards or board games
- Knitting or scrap booking
- Providing support at time of death
- Veteran to veteran visits
- Administrative tasks (bereavement phone calls/mailings, weekly "Tuck In Calls" to check on patients & caregivers, data entry, and more)
