Job Summary

The Breast Health Navigator provides clinical support to patients and caregivers throughout their cancer journey through assessment and education, oversees the multitude of clinical aspects of an active Breast Center, and works in the support of the broader Program in Women’s Oncology. The Breast Health Nurse Navigator is responsible for coordinating health education for patients. In addition, the BH Navigator assists the patient in overcoming healthcare system barriers by facilitating coordinated and timely access to care.

Works collaboratively with the nurse manager and practice administrator on the daily associated clinical activities for the Breast Health Center. Assists in the research of the medical aspects of particular studies. Performs other related duties as requested or directed.

Specifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with 3 to 5 years nursing experience.
  • Must have and maintain CPR certification.
  • Oncology Nursing Society certification preferred and/or obtained within two years of hire.
  • Nursing Navigation Certification preferred and/or obtained within two years of hire.
  • Must have current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Rhode Island.
  • Must be proficient in the English language.
