Summary
Reporting to the Nursing Director, the Operational Support RN, Non‑Procedural coordinates resources support for the assigned units, while providing leadership and support to staff.

- Collaborate with the health care team to deliver quality, fiscally responsible patient‑focused care by providing and directing nursing care throughout the patient’s life span.
- Foster communication with patients and their families to facilitate positive outcomes and discharge planning.
- Report status of unit operations, activities, and issues to the Clinical Manager or appropriate discipline.
- Coordinate with physicians, nursing, and ancillary departments to prioritize and manage patient flow.
- Participate in quality assessment and improvement programs to evaluate effectiveness of care and recommend improvements for individual and unit performance.
- Assist with unit staffing plans to ensure fiscally sound, acuity‑based staffing patterns.
- Identify staff educational needs and collaborate with Clinical Managers and Education Coordinators to develop and deliver learning.
- Participate in retention efforts; mentor, coach, and motivate staff.
- Collaborate with education and professional practice teams to deliver educational needs for team members and nursing units.
- Communicate nursing objectives, standards, and goals to bedside team.
- Co‑chair or chair a quality initiative for facility‑wide improvements.
- Participate in the formation and implementation of policy, procedures, and standards, ensuring compliance with TJC standards.
- Maintain an active CEU/Education file.
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Rhode Island or under the Nurse Licensure Compact.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; candidates matriculated into a BSN program considered.
- Minimum of 6 months nursing experience with demonstrated clinical and leadership skills (2 years preferred).
- Maintains mandatory skills and remains current in practice and technology.
Location:
Rhode Island Hospital – 593 Eddy Street, Providence, RI 02903.
Work Type: 7:00AM–7:30PM, weekends and holidays as needed.

Pay Range: $83,532.80–$.
