Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) – a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval – award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the application.

Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply.

• Certified Nurse Anesthetist positioned in the Surgical Service Line at the Providence VA Medical Center, Providence, Rhode Island.
• Full‑time, 40 hours per week.
• Provide comprehensive anesthetic services across five general categories: pre‑anesthesia evaluation and preparation; anesthesia induction, maintenance, and emergence; post‑anesthesia care; peri‑anesthetic and clinical support functions; and emergency response techniques.
• Develop and implement individualized anesthesia plans for patients requiring local, regional, general, or monitored anesthesia both within and outside the operating room.
• Deliver high‑quality, timely anesthesia care that promotes patient safety and satisfaction, and improves outcomes and efficiencies.
• Serve as a resource for staff education, acting as a preceptor and adjunct clinical faculty for health‑care trainees.
• Use evidence‑based practices to improve the quality of anesthesia care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary health‑care professionals to achieve common goals for patient safety and welfare.

• Licensed Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) with full and unrestricted license from any U.S. state or territory.
• Experience in advanced practice nursing and anesthesia, with a strong focus on patient safety and quality care.
