Fusion Medical Staffing‑Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN ED for a 13‑week assignment in Providence, Rhode Island.
Job SummaryThe Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) delivers rapid‑response, high‑quality patient care in a fast‑paced emergency department setting. Responsibilities include assessing patient conditions, implementing urgent care plans, administering life‑saving treatments, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient‑centered care.

- Rapidly assess and triage patients upon arrival.
- Explain emergency procedures and treatments to patients and families.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved protocols.
- Prepare equipment and aid physicians during emergency treatments.
- Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout the shift.
- Observe and document patient conditions as required.
- Take and monitor vital signs and respond to deviations.
- Respond to life‑saving situations based on standards, policies, and protocols.
- Document comprehensive nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes in EMR.
- Initiate patient education plans as appropriate.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice.
- Adhere to safety, infection‑control, and regulatory standards.
- One year recent experience as an ER RN.
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certification.
- TNCC, NIHSS, CPI, NRP, and SANE certifications.
- Other certifications or licenses may be required.
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency with written and verbal communication in English.
- PC proficiency.
- Physical stamina to move equipment up to 100 lbs and perform duties for the duration of shifts.
- Interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Technical/motor skills for fine manipulation and equipment use.
- Mental resilience to work under pressure and irregular schedules.
- Visual acuity and effective communication.
