Senior Grounds Crew Worker

Summary

Maintains the campus grounds to keep the environment safe and presentable, and leads project work as assigned.

• Receives daily work assignments related to the maintenance of campus and athletic grounds from manager and distributes those responsibilities to grounds crew in a timely manner
• Schedules daily work tasks of the grounds crew
• Provides feedback on areas for improvement in grounds care on campus
• Develops and manages plans for project completion, including scheduling maintenance, problem resolution and developing and purchasing materials needed to resolve issues in a timely manner
• Performs ground maintenance tasks related to landscaping including selection, planting and care of trees and shrubs, flower beds and ornamental ground coverings
• Shovels snow and applies salt as needed
• Removes, recycles or disposes of trash to properly discard waste
• Responds to on-campus maintenance emergencies, when assigned, in a timely manner
• Utilizes grounds maintenance equipment such as forklift and similar machines, as well as power and hand tools
• Operates grounds vehicles including trucks, as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Moderate amount of industry-related training and/or experience in grounds maintenance, turf management or other related work
• Valid U.S. driver's license
• DOT medical card upon hire

Qualified candidates must live or relocate within a daily commuting distance of the Providence Campus location upon hire.
