Built around the belief that focused care creates a better experience for pets, families, and clinical teams, the practice will combine thoughtful treatment planning, compassionate communication, and personalized support throughout each patient’s cancer journey. We are dedicated to helping pets enjoy more quality time while giving their families clarity, confidence, and hope.

By making medical oncology our sole focus, we are creating a practice where every detail is designed around the unique needs of pets with cancer and the people who love them. Join us in building a new standard for focused, compassionate veterinary cancer care.

We’re looking for a highly-skilled Certified Veterinary Technician to join us on the ground floor of this exciting launch. In this role, you’ll be a clinical anchor for patients navigating cancer diagnosis and treatment, working closely with board-certified oncologists and the broader care team to deliver thoughtful, highly skilled nursing support throughout every stage of care. From chemotherapy administration and diagnostic sampling to patient monitoring, client education, and supportive care, your work will directly shape the comfort, safety, and experience of both patients and the people who love them.

This is a chance to help shape the protocols, culture, and rhythms of a brand-new hospital before we open our doors. You’ll be instrumental in helping us build a team that functions with trust, efficiency, and heart.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide compassionate, hands-on care to medical oncology patients throughout appointments, treatments, and hospitalization
  • Place and manage IV catheters, perform venipuncture, administer prescribed medications, and closely monitor patient vitals and comfort
  • Prepare for and administer chemotherapy and other oncology treatments under veterinary direction and in accordance with established safety and handling protocols
  • Assist with diagnostic sampling, treatment calculations, blood transfusions, supportive care, and ongoing assessment of treatment-related side effects
  • Educate and communicate with clients during check-ins, treatment updates, and discharges, including reviewing medications, home-care instructions, and signs that require follow-up
  • Maintain accurate medical records and collaborate closely with oncologists, specialists, and fellow veterinary nurses to provide coordinated, individualized care
  • Contribute to a supportive, respectful hospital culture built on shared purpose, clinical curiosity, and mutual trust
What We’re Looking For
  • 2+ years of experience as a Certified Veterinary Technician
  • Current Certification in the state of Rhode Island
  • Strong technical skills in phlebotomy, catheter placement, monitoring, and patient assessment
  • Critical Care or ICU experience a plus
  • Experience with practice management software, (ezyVet is our in-house platform)
  • Adaptability, being able to pivot effortlessly while demonstrating a positive attitude with clients and co-workers
  • Highly organized and acute attention to detail
  • Sound judgment with the ability to work ethically, independently, and responsibly
  • Dedication to excellent service for each client and patient and respect for coworkers
  • Flexibility, curiosity, and the desire to help build something new
