Summary
Under general supervision, conduct scientific investigative research in patient care areas, supervise subordinate professional and support staff, develop and maintain study records, design experimental protocols, and analyze data with statistical methodologies. Emphasis on histological and immunohistochemical techniques.

- Conduct experiments according to established protocols using in vivo techniques on animal and/or human serum and in vitro techniques including molecular biology, mammalian cell culture, and histology.
- Participate in design of experimental protocols to achieve scientific objectives.
- Develop research methodologies within protocol parameters for quantitative and qualitative data evaluation.
- Gather, tabulate, graph, develop explanatory charts, and analyze data using statistical methodology.
- Interpret results, review data against hypothesis, and discuss with supervisors and researchers.
- Review all relevant literature for research objectives.
- Completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in the scientific field relevant to the research.
- Working knowledge of statistics, computer programming, and research methodology.
- Professional level knowledge of the scientific field germane to the research.
Three to six months of related experience in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to human and animal serum, chemical reagents, animal subjects, and radioactive materials.
