The Health Economics Senior Research Analyst at the School of Public Health's Department of Health Services Policy & Practicejoins a vibrant team supporting the activities of the Department and its research centers. The role is involved in health service sand economics research to better understand and develop policies that will lower spending growth, improve patient outcomes, anddrive structural change in U.S. health care delivery.

Core topicareas include payment reform, long term care, the evolvinglandscape of Medicare and Medicare Advantage, commercial pricegrowth, health care market structures including the impacts ofconsolidation and private equity ownership, and state efforts toaddress affordability and value.

The analyst will perform quantitative analyses for various center research projects. The analyst will use technical skills to helpresearchers design studies, construct databases, manage data,perform statistical programming and analysis, and interpret andreport results. Much of the work will involve secondary data analysis of various administrative datasets including health careclaims. The Health Economics Senior Research Analyst will work collaboratively with faculty-led teams in a dynamic environment that encourages independent thinking, problem solving, andcollegiality.

This position is Hybrid Eligible.

This is a fixed term position with a current end date of 06/30/2027which may be extended based upon available funding.

Bachelor's Degree and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Degrees in economics,applied economics, or closely related quantitative fields are strongly preferred.

• Hands-on experience implementing regression-based analysesusing statistical software
• Training in econometrics and causal inference methods
  
  Experience working with large, complex datasets
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage and validate data
• Ability to communicate technical results clearly in written and graphical form

• Experience working with administrative health care data (e.g.,Medicare claims, commercial claims, or electronic health records)
• Prior experience as a research assistant or in a policy research environment
• Familiarity with the U.S. health care system and health policytopics
