The Licensed Optician delivers the brand value proposition and helps establish Lens Crafters as the premier destination for all vision needs within the community, creating exceptional value in the lives of customers by delivering legendary customer service and perfectly crafted, high‑quality eyewear that exceeds expectations.
MajorDuties & Responsibilities
- Welcome all customers and set expectations.
- Custom‑fit glasses and place prescription lenses accurately.
- Act as a leader in optical acumen.
- Take and record measurements, accurately adjust and fit eyewear with attention to detail, ensuring finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs.
- Assist the team with complex product needs and prescriptions.
- Accurately and thoroughly use technology under time pressure and high customer volume, demonstrating exceptional product knowledge and using appropriate tools.
- Proactive, explore root cause of issues, forward‑thinking, ensuring customers are satisfied and expectations exceeded, solution‑driven.
- Multi‑task, prioritize, and manage time with competing priorities.
- Strive to achieve exceptional results on Brand KPIs and competencies.
- Take pride in store appearance, help keep the store clean, attractive, and organized.
- Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
- Be resourceful, self‑motivated with a desire for continual learning, improvement, and results.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including discounts, promotions, and inventory management.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- State licensure.
- Optical dispensing experience.
- Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener, and team builder.
- Knowledge of current store merchandise.
- Strong basic math skills.
- Awareness of current fashion trends.
- Selling skills – ability to use an iPad/tablet.
- Familiarity with POS, computers, and calculators.
- Embrace new technology and change.
- Previous customer service and retail experience.
Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements.
