Job Summary

The Territory Sales Representative is responsible for the growth of sales on assigned routes by establishing and maintaining business relationships with customers and sales drivers within the territory to maximize profitability.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with sales drivers, store managers, and key customer decision‑makers.
  • Ensure company drivers understand expectations and communicate how they will execute organizational goals, providing weekly updates.
  • Send all training documentation to Human Resources.
  • Meet sales expectations while delivering high‑quality customer service to various accounts.
  • Identify leads, manage prospects, and acquire new business.
  • Travel to customer and potential customer facilities to provide information and support.
  • Grow business by anticipating customer needs, determining appropriate solutions, and providing high‑level service.
  • Maintain call frequency on major retail chain district managers to support sales and service levels.
  • Build rapport and trust with store key management through frequent visits and communication.
  • Prepare a tailored selling plan with in‑depth knowledge of the specific retail customer and full product portfolio.
  • Follow through on agreed sales and service commitments to exceed store management expectations.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of company products and pricing structure.
  • Manage assigned company‑generated leads.
  • Complete scheduled and in‑person prospecting activities to establish first and follow‑up appointments.
  • Communicate weekly (or daily) with the Division Sales Manager on sales activities, goal progress, and prospective customer status.
  • Periodically visit stores to identify service strengths and opportunities.
  • Ensure weekly customer visits to negotiate advertising space and displays (minimum two visits per week).
  • Attend grand openings and store anniversaries.
  • Review weekly Out‑of‑Stock (OOS) reports and address deficiencies.
  • Use effective time‑management skills to service stores and establish customer relationships.
  • Plan routes and organize route paperwork as needed.
  • Follow all procedures for vehicle loading/unloading, safety meetings, equipment maintenance, and inventory compliance.
  • Maintain personal hygiene and comply with company procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors while visiting customers, using the company vehicle.
  • Must be able to work with various types of customers in stores.
  • Must be able to carry 20 to 40 pounds.
  • Must keep vehicle/truck clean and in good working condition.
  • Must adhere to all safety measures, including wearing a back‑brace support when picking up cases and bending knees as required.
Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required.
  • Must be 23 years of age.
  • 1+ year’s experience in retail or field‑based sales.
  • Knowledge of basic computer functions (email, internet, Microsoft Word).
  • Ability to work independently and professionally represent clients.
  • Valid driver’s license, full coverage auto insurance, and a clean MVR record.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.
