Summary

Under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator(s) and in accordance with established policies and procedures, the Project Coordinator coordinates all research projects conducted by the PI(s) in this department. This will include but not be limited to scheduling, coordination and implementation of programs or services, developing and maintaining key performance indicators to include finance, quality and productivity. Depending on priorities and needs of the department, may assume leadership role for activities to insure the successful completion of projects.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise non‑MD/PhD research staff and assign work tasks to research assistants and volunteers.
  • Coordinate work schedules and ensure completion of hospital and program required trainings.
  • Monitor staff adherence to procedures/protocols and meet regularly with the project team to ensure study‑related tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Oversee flow of study recruitment and communicate with local advertising outlets to secure dates and costs related to advertising the program’s studies.
  • Assist principal investigators with development, design and data‑management specifics of new studies and forms.
  • Assist with tabulating and reviewing data results for publication.
  • Assist research investigators in budgeting and managing financial accounts within guidelines and policies of the Hospital and sponsoring agencies.
  • Develop and maintain study regulatory binders and coordinate all required submissions related to protocol.
  • Ensure full compliance with the IRB.
  • Establish, maintain, and supervise all data collections and quality assurance procedures to assure conformance with protocol requirements, standards, and timeliness.
  • Complete required paperwork and assist in preparing research progress reports on all studies.
  • Act as a liaison to researchers at other study sites collaborating on studies with the Principal Investigator(s).
  • Maintain and enhance professional expertise through appropriate educational opportunities and literature.
  • Assist with management and maintenance of the program website and shared file server.
  • Communicate with property management regarding work environment or office issues.
  • Screen individuals interested in participating in the program’s studies and evaluation services.
  • Perform other related tasks as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Previous research experience highly recommended.
  • Demonstrates advanced competence with software programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint; familiarity with SPSS and/or SAS a plus.
  • Experience working both independently and in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Creative thinker with ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, and discretion and to work effectively and collaboratively.
  • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Exhibits flexibility during times of change.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high‑pressure environment.
Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field.
  • Master’s degree desirable.
  • Two to three years related research experience.
Work Environment and

Physical Requirements

Normal office environment.

Independent Action

Performs independently within the department’s policies and practices; refers specific complex problems to the supervisor when clarification of the departmental policies and procedures is required.

Supervisory Responsibility

Oversight responsibilities for up to 3 FTEs.

Pay Range

$53,060.80 – $87,547.20
