HVAC​/R Pipefitter Journeyman - Commercial & Industrial

• Install refrigeration systems following customer specifications, building code, and proper piping practices.
• Provide support on construction jobs by piping cooler boxes and refrigeration cases, including electrical wiring as required.
• Install pipe hangers as directed by the foreman.
• Provide construction support by welding and slip‑lining copper pipes, and assist the foreman as needed.
• Support by handling cooler box coils and installing or remodeling supermarket refrigeration systems.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

This role typically operates in convenience stores, grocery stores, food service, and construction environments. Workers may need to work at heights from ladders or scissor lifts, handle elevated noise, and work near refrigeration/HVAC equipment that exposes them to extreme cold, high heat from brazing, dust, inclement weather, heat, and humidity. PPE and safe work practices are required. The position is physically demanding, requiring stamina for repeated walking, standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, lifting up to 25 lb, occasionally up to 50 lb, and requires good vision (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth).

• High school diploma or GED, equivalent work experience and trade or technical school classes.
• License as a Journeyman to meet state requirements.
• 4+ years of experience in the construction industry (preferably commercial refrigeration, electrical, and/or fixtures construction).
• Experience in copper brazing and market remodeling.
• Good driving record and valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and ability to wire installations.
• Knowledge of carpentry.
• Knowledge of refrigeration systems and piping of refrigeration equipment.
• Knowledge of plumbing and pipe fittings, ability to pipe refrigeration equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints for refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing.
• Ability to hang evaporation coils and install overhead hangers.
• Ability to use hand and power tools and good mechanical skills.
• Knowledge of jobsite safety and ability to oversee work activities to ensure safe practices and rule compliance.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to understand and follow all company policies, procedures, and applicable State and Federal laws.
• Ability to use typical business tools including E‑Mail, Word, Excel, etc.
