The HVAC & HVAC Controls Technician is responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and building automation/control systems. This role supports the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of HVAC systems across assigned facilities, with a strong emphasis on controls, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort.

Qualifications

Required

* High school diploma or equivalent.

* Minimum of [X] years of experience in HVAC service and maintenance.

* Demonstrated experience with HVAC control systems and BAS.

* Valid driver's license.

* Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.

Preferred

* EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.

* HVAC journeyman license or equivalent (where applicable).

* Manufacturer‑specific controls training or certification.

* Experience in institutional, educational, healthcare, or large commercial facilities.

* Knowledge of energy management and building optimization practices.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Strong understanding of HVAC theory, controls logic, and mechanical systems.

* Proficiency with electrical troubleshooting and low‑voltage control systems.

* Ability to use diagnostic tools, meters, laptops, and BAS software.

* Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.

* Effective communication and documentation skills.

* Ability to work in confined spaces, on ladders, and lift up to [X] lbs.

Work Environment

* Work performed in mechanical rooms, rooftops, occupied buildings, and outdoor environments.
