Electrical Maintenance Technician

Cargill is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to support its manufacturing operations. In this role, you will maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems, motors, PLCs, and controls to keep production running safely and efficiently. You'll perform preventive and corrective maintenance, support equipment installations and upgrades, and interpret electrical schematics to diagnose issues. Working on-site in a fast-paced plant, you'll collaborate with operations and engineering, follow strict safety and lockout/tagout procedures, and contribute to continuous improvement that supports Cargill's global food and sustainability mission.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, motors, and control panels for manufacturing equipment
• Troubleshoot PLCs, variable frequency drives, sensors, and instrumentation to minimize downtime
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and OEM manuals to diagnose issues
• Support installation, commissioning, and upgrades of new production lines and automation systems
• Follow Cargill safety standards, lockout/tagout, and regulatory requirements in all maintenance activities
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and safety teams to improve equipment reliability and performance
• Document maintenance activities, parts usage, and findings in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
• Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant efficiency
