Position SummaryThe Engagement Specialist is responsible for contacting clients who miss scheduled service appointments to confirm their interest in continuing services. This role works collaboratively with clients to identify and address barriers that may prevent attendance at scheduled sessions, support re‑engagement in treatment, and adjust the level of care when appropriate.
The Engagement Specialist also initiates discharge and transfer planning for clients who cannot be successfully re‑engaged in treatment services. After repeated late cancellations or no‑show appointments, the position provides referrals and links clients to other community and human service programs to support ongoing care needs.
As part of the care team, the Engagement Specialist shares responsibility for directing, coordinating, and managing client care and services to promote positive outcomes and continuity of care.
Responsibilities- Contact clients who miss scheduled appointments to confirm interest in continuing services.
- Identify and address barriers that may prevent attendance at scheduled sessions.
- Support re‑engagement in treatment and adjust level of care when appropriate.
- Initiate discharge and transfer planning for clients who cannot be successfully re‑engaged.
- Provide referrals and link clients to community and human service programs after repeated cancellations or no‑shows.
- Collaborate with the care team to coordinate and manage client care and services.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Behavioral health experience preferred
- Proficient in operating various medical record software and hardware, word-processing, and database software programs
- Spanish speaking required; compensated
- Excellent multitasking and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Bilingual/ASL skills compensated by an additional 6% above base pay
- Multilingual skills compensated by an additional 8% above base pay
- Current driver’s license, reliable transportation, registration and auto insurance
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Travel to and from clients’ residences, community locations, and office site, including use of walkways, stairs and/or elevators
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
- Must be able to work remotely and in person while adhering to PHI requirements
