Assistant Manager

Job Description

FSRI is always looking for candidates that want to make a positive impact on the community we serve. This position ensures safety, stability, and professional guidance to residents placed through the Department of Children, Youth and Families. The Shift Supervisor promotes leadership by supervising TST Milieu Counselors in the residential treatment setting. The role requires a positive demeanor, integrity, empathy, nonjudgmental attitude, and cultural sensitivity.

Responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with the management team to maintain a safe and stable environment
• Supervise TST Milieu Counselors and ensure Trauma Systems Therapy is implemented
• Monitor the residential program and promote professional guidance to residents
• Enforce child management techniques, including passive physical restraint when necessary
• Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and external partners

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in social work-related field or significant residential/childcare experience; supervisory experience preferred
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as scheduled
• Knowledge and sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic issues
• Excellent communication skills
• Current driver’s license and reliable transportation with at least three seats plus insurance
• Bilingual skills compensated by an additional 6% above base pay

Physical Requirements:

• Travel to and from clients’ residence, community locations, and office site, potentially using walkways, stairs, and elevators
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
• Ability to communicate by voice and sight and hearing
