Job Summary:
The General Warehouse Associate at Home Depot plays a critical role in ensuring efficient operations within our distribution centers and warehouses. This position is responsible for handling, organizing, and distributing merchandise accurately and safely, supporting the supply chain, and contributing to an exceptional customer experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, physically capable, and committed to teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Receive, inspect, and properly store incoming shipments.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for delivery or in-store distribution.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using Home Depots warehouse management systems.
- Monitor stock levels and report discrepancies to supervisors.
- Ensure all warehouse areas are clean, organized, and comply with safety regulations.
- Assist in loading and unloading delivery trucks efficiently.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational targets.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Basic computer skills for inventory and order management.
- Ability to read labels, pick lists, and instructions accurately.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical stamina to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods.
- Prior experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or retail stock management is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Experience operating forklifts or warehouse machinery is a plus.
- Full-time and part-time shifts available.
- May include early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and occasional overtime.
- Flexibility to adapt to varying schedules is required.
- Knowledge of safe material handling practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Problem-solving skills to address stock discrepancies and logistical challenges.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain attention to accuracy.
