Peak Capital Partners is currently seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team!
Peak Capital Partners is a Utah-based real estate private equity firm that owns and operates multi‑family properties in key growth markets in the United States. Peak Capital and its affiliates own and manage conventional, affordable, and student apartment properties.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESOversee accounting for a portfolio of properties and complete all related daily accounting tasks. Work closely with property management team to ensure accuracy of financial records. Work with the accounting team to deliver required reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Participate as a valued member of the accounting team to develop and enhance accounting processes.
SPECIFIC DUTIES- Daily journal entry review and posting
- Process and record quarterly distributions to investors
- Equity reconciliations between subledger and general ledger
- Intercompany reconciliations
- Monthly bank reconciliations for Peak corporate level entities
- Prepare entries for acquisitions and dispositions of properties
- Monthly and quarterly financial reporting to equity partners
- Preparation of annual financials for tax preparation by third party CPA firms
- Coordination with external auditors on property audits
- Continual focus on process improvement
The following are the qualifications, skills and experience needed for this position:
Required- Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and core GAAP principles.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with recurring deliverables under deadline.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, and basic data analysis.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent responsibilities and prioritize across financial accounting and tax work streams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with comfort interacting across the accounting team and broader internal stakeholders.
- A learning orientation and willingness to develop across a broad scope of accounting and tax activities.
- Zero to two years of accounting experience in public accounting or industry.
- Exposure to real estate, partnership, or fund accounting.
