Job DescriptionAre you an experienced travel professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys helping others have meaningful, seamless travel experiences? We invite you to apply for the Sr. Travel Coordinator position supporting our Guest Relations team in the Church Communications Department.
This is a full-time benefited time‑bound role that will assist with the Salt Lake Temple Open House and Rededication. Employment is directly connected to and will assist with the temple project. Work location will be in the Church Office Building in Salt Lake City. This position will begin in April 2026 and not exceed past September 2027.
Why This Role MattersThis position will be embedded in the Church Travel Department and receive day‑to‑day assignments from them. However, this is an employment position supporting and directly reporting to the Government and Community Relations Director of the Church Communications Department. You will directly support individuals who play a vital role in moving forward the mission of the Church. Your efforts ensure safe, cost‑effective, and well‑coordinated travel for invited Church leaders, employees, and guests.
Responsibilities- Plan and manage global travel itineraries using the most cost‑efficient options, advising travelers on available choices and associated costs.
- Book all travel arrangements, including air, hotel, rail, and rental cars through reservation systems, online resources, or vendor partners.
- Prepare detailed itineraries that include restrictions, guidelines, and helpful information to ensure a smooth traveler experience.
- Follow proper accounting guidelines for invoicing, payments, billing, and check requisitions.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource on travel‑industry changes, trends, and best practices.
- A bachelor’s degree plus 3+ years of travel‑industry experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience coordinating events for small and large groups (highly preferred)
- Strong organizational skills to manage schedules and coordinate events
- Exceptional communication abilities to facilitate effective communication and collaboration within the organization and with external clients
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent customer service abilities, including resolving difficult travel issues with professionalism
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications
- Capacity to work efficiently with a large workload, tight timelines, and special projects
- Ability to support after‑hours phone calls as needed
