Project Engineer, Procurement ​/ Purchasing

MGC Contractors, Inc. is a 100% Employee Owned Corporation. We specialize in all forms of water and wastewater general contracting including Job Order Contracting, Construction Manager at Risk, Design-Bid-Build, and Design-Build throughout Arizona, Texas, Utah, and New Mexico. MGC Contractors, Inc. is looking for Project Engineers to join our Utah Division in the Provo area.

• General Contract and Subcontract administration
• Construction scheduling
• Procurement and expediting of material and equipment
• Mechanical, electrical and piping systems coordination
• Project cost review, reporting, updating, and accounting
• Review of subcontractor applications for payment
• Participation in project meetings
• Supervision/coordination of subcontractors field installations
• Review/negotiation of change proposal pricing from subcontractors and prepare change proposals for self-performed work
• Research and suggest options on construction means, methods and equipment
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with owners, vendors, subcontractors
• Any and all other duties assigned

• This position operates in a professional office environment with standard office equipment. Requires the ability to communicate in person and over the telephone, interpret printed materials and a computer screen, maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, and lift/carry supplies and files up to 10 pounds. Position may involve moving about the office to access supplies and equipment.
• This position operates at professional construction sites, requiring verbal communication on site, reading printed materials, signs, and directions. Ability to lift, push, pull, carry, handle or feel objects, supplies, tools, machinery and/or controls weighing up to 50 pounds and to navigate work areas safely. May require climbing stairs and ladders, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting overhead, and traversing around the site.
• This position operates in a professional field environment. Requires working outside, frequently for long periods in all weather, including extreme hot and cold temperatures.
• Exposure to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, virus or other pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machinery and dust/debris.

• This is a full-time position. Occasional overtime may be required as job duties demand.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor degree in Construction Management or related program required.
• Prior construction field experience preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
• Effective communication skills both oral and written, and quick response time to inquiries.
