- Monday–Wednesday:
Provo — answering phones, front-desk and office support - Thursday:
Provo — surgery day (patient consults, clinical support, x‑rays, recovery) - Friday:
Draper — surgery day (patient consults, clinical support, x‑rays, recovery)
Position Summary:
We are a wisdom-teeth practice seeking a reliable, compassionate Receptionist/Clinical Assistant to split responsibilities between front-desk duties and clinical support on surgery days. This role requires excellent phone/customer service skills, attention to detail with insurance and scheduling, basic radiography skills, and the ability to assist with patient recovery after sedation.
ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:
Front Desk / Administrative (Mon–Wed)
- Answer multi-line phone system promptly and professionally; triage calls and route appropriately
- Schedule appointments and surgical dates; confirm pre-op instructions and reminders
- Verify patient insurance benefits and obtain authorizations as needed; quote patient estimates accurately
- Check patients in/out, collect co-pays, process payments and maintain patient records in the practice management system
- Respond to patient messages and coordinate with clinical staff for follow-up or questions
- Maintain a clean, organized reception and waiting area; support general office tasks
Clinical / Surgery Day Duties (Thursdays in Provo; Fridays in Draper)
- Greet and check in surgical patients; review medical history and consent forms; ensure pre-op instructions were followed
- Perform digital dental radiographs (intraoral and/or panoramic) and upload/label images per office protocol
- Conduct pre-op patient consultations under provider direction—explain arrival process, perioperative instructions, and answer basic questions
- Assist clinical team during procedures as needed (sterile setup, instrument passing, suction)
- Monitor and assist patients in recovery from sedation: vital signs, comfort, discharge instructions, and documentation of recovery status
- Coordinate post‑op follow‑up appointments and prescription/aftercare instructions
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; dental assisting, radiography, or medical office training preferred
- Current dental x‑ray certification (or willing to obtain) and familiarity with digital radiography preferred
- Prior experience in a dental/oral surgery or medical office strongly preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication; professional phone demeanor
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment
- Basic computer skills; experience with practice management/EHR systems preferred
- CPR certification or willingness to obtain; experience monitoring sedated patients or recovery room assistance a plus
- Reliable transportation and ability to work at both Provo and Draper locations as scheduled
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit/stand for extended periods, move between front desk and clinical areas, assist with patient transfers as needed, and perform light lifting.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive hourly wage (based on experience)

Job starts at $18 per hour with raise after 90 days.
