Job SummaryProvide classroom and lab instruction in all aspects of the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration program while working with students in an open‑entry competency‑based classroom and lab environment.

- Provide practical application instructional support in a variety of settings (commercial and/or residential) which lead to required industry certifications such as EPA, Rocky Mountain Gas Association certification, and others as required.
- Accommodate various learning styles, especially hands‑on training not limited to the classroom.
- Advise students on program requirements and their progress through the course objectives.
- Collaborate with department faculty to coordinate quality classroom activities.
- Work in a team environment and support a variety of instructional delivery formats that may be implemented in the HVAC lab.
- Provide industry‑standard instructional support for industry certification.
- Support student learning activities.
- Maintain the quality of the programs and ensure that students are following learning plans.
- Follow all established SLCC, Salt Lake Technical College and Department policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, cultures, ethnic backgrounds, and abilities, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
- Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.
All faculty will maintain an on‑site campus presence to encourage in‑person relationships and create engaging, meaningful, and impactful learning experiences unless approved for online‑only courses.
You are employed as an adjunct faculty member/instructor on a contract‑to‑contract basis, with no future expectation or obligation for employment. Your employment may be terminated at will at any time.
You are required to maintain professional boundaries with all SLCC students.
