WHAT YOU'LL DO IN THIS POSITION The Adjunct Faculty Member reports to the Law School's Associate Dean for Faculty & Curriculum. Some of the responsibilities of this role are:

Teach a course on Civil Pretrial skills :
This class is a semester-long, simulation-based course focused on civil litigation and the pretrial process. Guides students in developing practical lawyering skills, including client intake, case investigation, case theory development, and strategic decision-making. Emphasizes the application of civil procedure and evidence rules as tools for effective advocacy, while fostering a holistic understanding of litigation strategy. Instructs students in managing discovery, drafting pleadings and motions (including dispositive motions and motions in limine), preparing for pretrial hearings, and aligning case development with legal claims and defenses through a realistic, hands-on case simulation.

The adjunct faculty member will not be asked to attend department meetings.

She or he will be expected to spend some time outside of class to address questions related to the class.

Time taught to be determined by the applicant's schedule.

WHAT QUALIFIES YOU FOR THIS ROLE?

Required Degree : JD required. Required degree must be completed by the start date. Must be an active member of the Utah Bar .Experience :
The applicant must have knowledge of the topic and significant teaching experience.
