Job Description

As an Educatius Local Coordinator, your responsibility will be to recruit, screen, and prepare prospective host families through community outreach, ensuring every student is placed in a safe and nurturing environment, and supporting students within their host families once they arrive. Local Coordinators make certain that both students and host families have a quality experience. As a Local Coordinator, you will build relationships with students from around the world and host families from within your community, all while managing your own time from home.

• Recruit and select host families in your community.
• Screen host families by following the Educatius 3‑Step host family screening process.
• Match students with host families.
• Build and maintain relationships with local schools and community stakeholders.
• Provide support and guidance to students and host families throughout the experience.
• Work closely with your Regional Manager to ensure all student and host family needs are being met.

Successful candidates possess the following qualities and skills: networking, community outreach, sales, negotiation, and deadline‑driven mindset. Strong communication skills collaborating well with others. Strong problem‑solving and listening skills, and the ability to act objectively. An understanding of cultural differences is helpful, as well as a desire to work with international teenagers.

Educatius provides training for Local Coordinators to prepare them for all aspects of the role, including sales/community outreach, student placements, supervision and support, conflict mediation and resolution, and multicultural training. Regional Staff works directly with Coordinators to guide them through initial training modules and provide additional support throughout the year.

Yes, you work remotely and can set your own schedule. You are required to meet with host family students every other month in person; all other work is computer‑based. The position is a contract, not salaried, and compensation comes from placement and supervision fees, bonuses, and all‑inclusive travel incentives.

Our Coordinators come from diverse backgrounds: full‑time professionals, stay‑at‑home parents, business owners, professors, retirees, and more! Outstanding communication skills, excellent problem‑solving, persistence, understanding of people, teens in particular, patience, and creative marketing skills are key.

Your responsibility will be to recruit, screen, and prepare prospective host families through community outreach, ensuring every student is placed in a safe and nurturing environment. The role transitions into mentoring and problem‑solving once the student arrives. Complete monthly progress reports on each student covering school, social, host family, and academic life.

The commitment depends on availability. As an independent contractor you can choose your effort level. The average coordinator who places 5–10 students per year works 5–10 hours per week. There is no set time commitment; after placement you do monthly contact reports, bi‑monthly visits, and are available for emergencies.

Successful coordinators place 8–20 students per year. The average places 3–5 students. There are no quotas or minimums.

Coordinators network and recruit host families. Training and resources are provided, but you must do your own networking through social networks, churches, youth groups, sporting associations, clubs, local events, and social media. Each Coordinator works with a Regional Manager for support. Host families receive a monthly stipend.

As an independent contractor you can deduct your expenses on your taxes, in accordance with IRS regulations.
