Job Description
This position is central to the missionaries' role to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. The incumbent is an individual contributor in the development, implementation, evaluation, training, and maintenance of curriculum materials used for Pre-MTC, MTC, and In-Field programs.
Employment in this position is at‑will and initially fixed‑term for up to two years, with the possibility of becoming permanent.
Responsibilities- Reports to the Manager, Learning and Development Curriculum.
- Contributes to the development, iteration, and maintenance of curriculum materials for Pre-MTC, MTC, and In-Field programs.
- Designs, builds, delivers, and maintains curriculum content‑delivery sites in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French (using Canvas, Google Sites, SharePoint).
- Creates and updates curriculum syllabuses and business rules for all training programs, linking associated content and ensuring alignment with approved Upline direction and source materials.
- Applies the Global Visual Style Guide and Church Communication Guide to unify branding and templating across products.
- Curates and edits rich media (images, video, captions) and collaborates with designers to develop supplemental instructional materials.
- Retires and archives videos in accordance with data privacy regulations and embeds links to ensure functionality.
- Tests prototypes, sandboxes, and evaluates usability and UX of training materials.
- Organizes and prioritizes tasks and manages team workflows using product management tools (, SharePoint).
- Collects and reports data to evaluate effectiveness of implemented curriculum, acting as a consultant for data‑informed solutions.
- Performs user research and conducts interviews with missionaries, teachers, and supervisors worldwide to inform content decisions.
- Analyzes findings, performs audits, and presents reports to the Manager and relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborates with stakeholders across Church departments to gather information for curriculum solutions and delivery methods.
- Tracks communications to missionaries, collaborates with related Church departments, and uses information from missionary portals and apps to inform logistics.
- Communicates with international MTC staff and coordinates with Provo MTC departments for logistical considerations.
- 1 year of prior experience in missionary training or development.
- High aptitude to learn new systems and processes.
- Skilled command of word‑processing software (Microsoft Office, Google Suite, etc.).
- Excellent presentation, communication, problem‑solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to give and follow specific directions and processes.
- Ability to manage time and multiple projects effectively.
- Ability to develop appropriate relationships and communicate professionally with stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate and give/accept feedback.
- Ability to contribute to a dynamic, creative team environment.
- Analytical, detail‑oriented and proactive.
- Adaptability to change, ambiguity, and pressure.
- Physical requirements may include sitting for long periods and using monitors/equipment.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, English/Literature, Human Development, Psychology, Communications, or an applicable field with strong writing and analytical skills.
- Experience as a training supervisor or coordinator in Pre‑MTC, MTC, or In‑Field areas.
- Thorough knowledge of current Pre‑MTC, MTC, or In‑Field curriculum and operations.
- Skilled grasp of digital missionary‑focused tools (MTC Tools, Preach My Gospel app, My MTC App, etc.).
