Qualifications and Skills:

• Valid state licensure or certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing
• Experience implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is highly preferred
• Strong communication and advocacy skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Prior experience in a school-based setting is a plus

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Develop and execute specialized instructional programs and accommodations
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and parents
• Facilitate communication access via sign language, technology, or other resources
• Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and participate in IEP meetings
• Offer guidance and training to staff on best practices for supporting deaf/hard of hearing students
