Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned classes in Church History & Doctrine (Rel C 225 Foundations of the Restoration; Doctrine & Covenants - C 320; History of the Church - C 341, 342, 343).
  • Classes can be day, evening, BYU Online, or BYU Salt Lake Center.
  • Develop and deliver curriculum that helps students develop faith, become lifelong disciples; using scripture and modern prophets to resolve doubts and respond with faith.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree completed by the start date.
  • Exceptional potential for teaching the restored gospel of Jesus Christ; often demonstrated by teaching experience in religious education in the Church Educational System.
  • Ability to describe qualifications in the Foundations of the Restoration course, including academic training, past teaching experience, and evidence of competency and proficiency.
  • Mission alignment statement required.
Employment Requirements
  • Successful candidate must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.
  • All employees who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints must hold a current temple recommend and be worthy to hold.
  • All employees must abide by the university's Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards.
  • Preference given to qualified candidates who are members in good standing of the affiliated church.
