Position

Start Date:

September 1, 2026

Required Degree:

Ph.D. required. Ph.D. in games studies, literary studies, critical theory, or related fields preferred. The required degree must be completed by the start date.

Experience:

Significant experience teaching game criticism (preferably 7+ years), teaching at the college level (preferably 7+ years), and familiarity with Brigham Young University policies and procedures.

Duties/Expectations:

The Office of Digital Humanities believes that technically rigorous skills can be learned by anyone with effective and patient teaching and mentoring. We seek instructors who share this belief.

Teach DigHT 395R:
Digital Humanities Research Seminar, following department-approved curriculum

Hold regular office hours

Complete grade books, final grade sheets, learning assessments, and final exam assessments on a timely basis

Identify and refer at-risk students to specific academic support services

Ensure course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus

Assist students in their progress in the course and in meeting the Aims of a BYU Education Documents Required at the Time of Application:
