Position

Start Date:

September 1, 2026

Required Degree:

Ph.D. in computational linguistics or related field.

The required degree must be completed by the start date.

Experience:

Significant experience with Python (preferably 10+ years), text analysis and computational linguistics (10+ years), teaching Python at the college level (7+ years), and familiarity with BYU policy and procedure.

Duties/Expectations:

Teach DigHT/Ling 360:
Programming for Text Processing and Analysis, following department-approved curriculum

Hold regular office hours

Complete grade books, final grade sheets, learning assessments, and final exam assessments on a timely basis

Identify and refer at-risk students to specific academic support services

Ensure course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus

Assist students in their progress in the course and in meeting the AIMS of a BYU Education Documents Required at the Time of Application:
