Description:
The BYU Center for the Improvement of Teacher Education and Schooling (CITES) is seeking a three-quarter-time adjunct faculty member to work with Dr. Bryant Jensen to support research within CITES. Grounded in the belief that teaching is a moral endeavour, our research will examine school leadership, instructional improvement, teacher preparation, and professional development with a focus on strengthening relationships and educational outcomes.
Guided by the principle of simultaneous renewal and inspired by faith in Jesus Christ, CITES research will promote rigorous inquiry, reflection, and action to foster lasting improvements for students, families, educators, and schools.
Required Degree:
PhD in a field related to educational research. The required degree must be completed by the start date.
Experience:
- Expertise in research on teacher education and school improvement
- Experience collaborating with student researchers
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong collaboration and organisational skills
- Quantitative and qualitative research skills
- Knowledge of teacher education and school improvement
Duties/Expectations:
- Assist in research that will address key challenges in public education and teacher preparation through the long-standing partnership we have at BYU with public schools (see (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).).
- Manage the collection and organization of data for research projects
- Coordinate project activities and maintain a high level of communication with the research team.
- Maintain quality control of data, meet data collection timelines, and establish data management systems.
- Coordinate with school sites to recruit and maintain study participants.
- Assist in developing data collection protocols.
- Onboard and supervise student research assistants to collect data with fidelity, accuracy, and reliability.
- Present at regional, national, and international conferences.
