Job Description:

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive individual to join our team at Zeo Energy as a PV Design Lead. In this role, you will ensure all jobs are designed according to company standards and meeting compliance with AHJ and utility requirements. This position requires strong technical skills, proactive problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with operations and field teams.

The PV Design Lead must have strong residential solar design knowledge and a commitment to delivering high quality plan sets within strict timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Review projects for scope of work and ensure the supply and installation teams have accurate information and address any potential issues in advance

Assess plan set quality and provide feedback to third party design teams

Revise designs or plan sets as needed

Reduce permitting or utility rejection rates by root cause problem solving and working closely with the operations and field teams to implement solutions in a timely manner and update knowledge base systems accordingly

Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and conduct new hire and continuing training for Design Specialists

Qualifications:

3-5 years of solar design or field experience

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans including site layouts, electrical line diagrams, and equipment specification sheets

AutoCAD experience required

Proven ability to quickly assess, identify root causes, and address problems with a focus on finding practical solutions to ensure project success

Prior formal or informal leadership experience

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and effectively with third party design or engineering teams, operations teams, and field teams

Comfortable adapting to changing priorities and requirements

Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
