Job Overview

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager 2 to support the Sentinel program in Roy, UT. The role leads the Sentinel Program’s Manufacturing Engineers (ME) and interfaces with customers, suppliers and the broader manufacturing leadership team.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Sentinel Program’s Manufacturing Engineers in Roy, Utah, supporting the development of the Systems Test Team (STT).
  • Execute specific Statements of Work (SOWs) for STT build and delivery and manage the ME resources required.
  • Provide working knowledge of ME-related processes including producibility analysis, manufacturing plans, manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM), work instructions, and supplier capability assessment using MRA processes.
  • Assimilate and collate metrics for internal and customer reporting.
  • Collaborate with the STT Manufacturing Lead to assess SOW requirements and develop accurate, executable resource plans.
  • Assist with Integrated Master Schedules, work plans and status‑tracking metrics.
  • Guide and direct the team of Manufacturing Engineers executing the SOW requirements.
  • Ensure consistency in the use of Digital Engineering processes, tools and methods.
  • Develop team members for growth, increased scope capability and job satisfaction.
  • Establish milestones, monitor adherence to master plans and schedules, identify improvement opportunities and obtain solutions.
  • Conduct assessments of team member performance relative to team and individual goals.
  • Demonstrate exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, multitasking, and effective communication with customers, NGC, suppliers and leadership.
  • Lead the team to perform at cost and schedule while meeting all requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business‑related field with a minimum of 8 years of related experience, or Master’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of related experience.
  • Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval as required.
  • Demonstrated management experience leading a technical and complex program effort.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • One year of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Managing people experience.
  • Experience operating in a dynamic environment with increasing build schedules and high delivery rates.
  • Proven leadership, problem‑solving, strong work ethic, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with Northrop Grumman Manufacturing Engineering processes and procedures.
  • Experience with digital production‑planning tools and functions such as Manufacturing Execution Systems.
  • Experience with digital engineering tools such as NX, CATIA, etc.
  • Knowledge of Product Data Manager or Product Lifecycle Manager tools.
  • Experience with Systems Applications and Products (SAP).
  • Prior experience with ICBM program structural fabrication and assembly.

Salary

Primary Level Salary Range: $ – $. This range is a general guideline; base salary offers consider the scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills and market conditions. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses and long‑term incentives.
