Northrop Grumman Strategic Deterrent Systems Division is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer / Senior Principal Systems Engineer for the Sentinel Program in Roy, UT. The role supports the full systems‑engineering life cycle and involves developing, managing, and verifying system requirements and architecture.
Responsibilities- Support the team across the full systems‑engineering life cycle, from use‑case development through verification.
- Collaborate closely with Integrated Product Team (IPT) counterparts to produce rigorous systems‑engineering and design artifacts.
- Define, allocate, and trace requirements and ensure they are accurately represented in the system model.
- Perform functional decomposition, interface definition, and support verification activities.
- Develop systems architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture, modeling behavioral, structural, and analytical aspects.
- Contribute to ongoing requirements development, management, and analysis.
- Establish unifying modeling techniques, procedures, and processes for seamless model development, tool integration, and team collaboration.
- Principal Systems Engineer level (T‑03):
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years related experience; 3 years with a Master’s; 1 year with a PhD. - Senior Principal Systems Engineer level (T‑04):
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years related experience; 6 years with a Master’s; 4 years with a PhD. - Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
- Special Access Program (SAP) clearance with access to CJ1.
- 2+ years’ experience in ICBM (MMIII or Sentinel) or complex aerospace/defense systems.
- 2+ years’ experience developing and executing systems‑engineering process governance documentation in a DoD Engineering and Manufacturing Development phase.
- 2+ years’ experience creating, updating, and maintaining requirements specifications in DOORS.
- 2+ years’ experience on large‑scale/complex system development across multiple phases of a development program.
- 2+ years’ experience creating, updating, and maintaining Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) products.
- Experience with Agile.
- Familiarity with Teamcenter/CPLM.
- Experience with SE events (e.g., PDR, CDR).
- Resolving issues and providing technical support.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong understanding of complex engineering systems and associated processes.

- Standard work schedule is 9/80 (nine‑hour days Monday‑Thursday with alternate Fridays off).
