Location:

Department:
Integration Assembly Test and Checkout (IATC) – Command and Launch (C&L) segment, supporting the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program.

Relocation assistance may be available.

Yes (10% of the time).

This role provides the opportunity to develop multiple cable/harness engineering design solutions, lead the Special Test Equipment (STE) statement of work from concept through delivery, and serve as a subject matter expert for Cable, Harness, and Instrumentation.

Responsibilities
  • Define and document electrical interconnects through coordination with system, subsystem, and unit engineers.
  • Proactively communicate across teams to ensure critical data is identified for collection.
  • Incorporate project flow down requirements into harness/cable design.
  • Prepare and present harness subsystem design, architecture, and implementation plans at design team meetings and reviews.
  • Assist in establishing harness/cable routing and segmentation.
  • Perform voltage drop analysis and capacitance studies.
  • Conduct RF transmission line analysis and performance evaluations.
  • Support manufacturing, procurement, lab integration, and test design, including implementation of test and measurement systems in the lab space.
  • Provide technical lead review and sign‑off on electrical harness and wiring diagrams.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM with 8 years of experience, Master's degree with 6 years, or PhD with 4 years.
  • Active U.S. Government DoD Secret clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval.
  • At least 1 year of experience with MIL‑STD‑1553, RS‑422, CAN, or similar data signal types.
  • At least 1 year of experience with circuit design analysis and electrical system sizing/protection, including wire shielding requirements.
  • At least 1 year of experience with wire gauge sizing, voltage drop analysis, and derating analysis.
  • At least 1 year of experience with harness fabrication, component selection, and installation processes.
  • At least 1 year of experience with EMI/RF principles and their application to harness shielding.
  • At least 1 year of experience with parts, materials, and processes for electrical harness related to power distribution, RF, communication, and high‑speed data signal applications.
  • At least 1 year of experience with data acquisition and instrumentation systems.
  • Familiarity with industry cable and harness standards: IPC/WHMA‑A‑620, NASA‑STD‑8739.4, AS50881.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret clearance at time of application.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Microsoft Visio, Rapid Harness, NX, AutoCAD, Capital, Teamcenter.
  • Prior experience coordinating with multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) in a dynamic program environment.
  • At least 1 year of experience with military aircraft avionics subsystems.
  • Experience preparing and presenting oral and written reports.
  • Familiarity with PM&P requirements per Aerospace TOR‑)-5235/‑5236.
  • Experience with DoD architectures and Industry/Military Standards (MIL‑STD‑810, MIL‑STD‑331, MIL‑STD‑1901A, MIL‑STD‑461).
