Overview
Criminal Intelligence Analyst – Statewide Information & Analysis Center (SIAC) is an opportunity to support Utah’s public safety mission by collecting, analyzing, and disseminating intelligence.
Responsibilities- Perform statistical and intelligence analysis using tradecraft and best practices to reach accurate conclusions.
- Analyze, summarize, and review data; report findings, interpret results, and make recommendations in a timely manner.
- Write raw and finished intelligence reports, articles, or related material based on research, investigation, or analysis.
- Examine national‑security related threats impacting Utah, including terrorism, organized crime, drug, gang, and targeted violence.
- Develop conclusions and recommendations for detection, deterrence, disruption, and mitigation.
- Participate in working groups, teams, or other assignments as directed.
- Demonstrate intelligence analysis skills.
- Demonstrate critical‑thinking skills.
- Experience in social media research and analysis.
- Ability to use databases for data entry, searching, and information exploitation.
- Create spreadsheet tables and statistics.
- Produce and present analytic reports.
- Experience supporting law enforcement investigations and task forces.
- SECRET National Security Clearance (current or ability to obtain).
- Experience in intelligence analysis, targeting, or geospatial analysis.
- Experience working on task forces, task teams, or in similar environments.
- Current employee of the Utah Department of Public Safety.
- Willing and available to travel both in‑state and out‑of‑state, including overnight stays.
- Intelligence analysis training (prior training completed before SIAC employment).
- Attend subject‑matter‑expertise development training.
- Complete SECRET National Security Clearance submission packet (if clearance is not currently held).
The Utah Statewide Information & Analysis Center (SIAC) is a key part of the Utah Department of Public Safety. SIAC collects, analyzes, and disseminates intelligence to protect Utahns.

Supplemental Information- A Level II background investigation will be conducted prior to employment.
- Typical office setting is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. Safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
- Employee may sit comfortably to perform work but may also walk, stand, bend, carry light items, and drive an automobile.
