Patient Service Representative - MMF Family Med EDH

Position Summary

The Patient Service Representative 1 offers administrative support to both patients and clinicians under the guidance of the Practice Director. Serving as the first point of contact for patients, families, and external parties, this role requires excellent communication and customer service skills. Responsibilities include patient registration, scheduling, addressing billing inquiries, and managing phone calls. The position also provides daily clerical support to the clinic and may assist in orienting new staff or supporting other departments when necessary.

• Provide first point of contact for patients, families, and external parties.
• Perform patient registration and scheduling duties.
• Address billing inquiries and verify insurance eligibility.
• Process and obtain authorization requests, including verification of credentials with external partners.
• Manage incoming phone calls and daily clerical tasks for the clinic.
• Assist in orienting new staff and provide support to other departments as needed.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic medical terminology, insurance billing, and computer familiarity preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Detail oriented with strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Basic office equipment familiarity.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
• Maintain a positive disposition at all times.
