Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine is seeking local healthcare professionals for the position of Simulation Clinical Nurse Actor to portray nursesand other clinical team membersin realistic medicalsimulationsfor osteopathic medical students! You will help learners strengthen diagnostic reasoning, teamwork, communication, professionalism, and patient care skills.
Position Summary- On a flexible PRN (pro re nata/as-needed) basis, Simulation Clinical Nurse Actors portray nurses and other clinical team members using standardized behaviors, communication, and workflows. Coaching is provided for live or recorded activities in examination rooms, inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and other simulated healthcare settings.
- Review scripts, clinical details, and scenario objectives.
- Consistently portray realistic nursing behaviors and workflows.
- Remain in character while responding appropriately to student actions.
- Collaborate with simulation faculty and staff.
- Maintain confidentiality related to cases and student performance.
- Arrive punctually, prepared, and receptive to coaching.
- Clinical nursing experience preferred; a current nursing license is a plus.
- EMTs, paramedics, respiratory therapists, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals are encouraged toapply and will also be considered.
- Acting, performance, simulation, or healthcare education experience is helpful but not required.
- Strong communication, professionalism, adaptability, and attention to detail.
- Reliable transportation for occasional local travel.
- Ability to occasionally sit, stand, walk, bend, push or pull, and lift under 35 pounds.
- Hours vary based on curriculum and simulation needs, making this a flexible opportunity for healthcare professionals seeking occasional work. Outside of preparation time, work is performed on campus in Provo.
